For anyone not 100% confident with their weights or even understanding all the GVM-GCM..etc, we would absolutely recommend investing in getting a Pro to check everything over.
We are about to embark on 66 days around Qld and wanted to make sure we were within the legislation parameters and travelling safely on the road. We have a 22ft JB DRX and tow vehicle is the LC300 VX model with no upgrades other than Old Man Emu airbags (we removed the rear seats as well). We have been using a Hayman Reece tow hitch, which we learnt we didn't need at all.
Our comprehensive Report came back within 24hrs with solid recommendations and only a few tweaks to make the ride more comfortable, including tyre pressures suited to our set up. In the 2hr time slot, we asked all the questions we could think of - even the dumb ones. We weren't over limits in any of the weights but they did help us to distribute and balance weights better to get the best outcome.
We were pretty darn happy and now can confidently pack the van in the next 2 weeks knowing what we can and can't take in both vehicle and van. Its certainly has given us peace of mind, a better understanding of everything and for a few hundred bucks, it was money well spent.
What blew us away was how little kgs we had spare and it's literally just the 2 of us with no kids/animals/bikes/boat/car fridge.
